WHAT'S HAPPENING!
Because It's Personal, lnc's mission is to help transition participants from institutional living to a secure environment through social engagement and a structured lifestyle.
We recognize that a primary need of ex-offenders released from our correctional facilities is safe, nurturing, and secure housing.
Because It's Personal, Inc., plans to institute our program in phases. The following is an outline of the various stages.
We are currently in Phase 1 of our program and are currently recruiting intern volunteers from local colleges and universities to assist us with our committees. These committees include Fundraising, Reentry Team, Earthly Angel Team (seniors), Love In Action Team, Research Team, and Technical Support Team. During this phase, we plan to buy or lease a 3- to-5-bedroom house for our Pilot Project. We recognize that the primary need for newly released ex-offenders is safe and secure housing.
Additional Phases
Phase 2
At this stage, we plan to identify old boarded-up houses and remodel them into a healthy, vibrant, and thriving neighborhood that expands to other dilapidated areas into beautiful, safe, and affordable communities.
We will not only transform lives, but our community as well
Phase 3
During Phase 3, we will buy, build, or remodel a motel/hotel-like structure to accommodate 50-75 participants.
Phase 4
Phase 4 will commence with the initiation of the Second Chance and Opening Doors Program.
These programs are geared towards program graduates who want to start fresh in society and continue living in a co-housing model.
Rationale
Program Overview
Our vision is to bring awareness, advocate for and reduce homelessness of formally incarcerated individuals through incorporating supportive services, including wrap-around services, career placement, and secure and stable housing established through coordinated community partnerships. Participants are equipped with the tools they need to integrate back into our communities, be self-sufficient, and live wholesome, productive lives.
We will continue to network with several non-profit organizations and foundations contributing to reformational programs for returning citizens.
Because it's Personal, Inc., currently collaborates with the Cobb Collaborative Organization, Gathering lndustries.org, LifeChangersinc.org, and the Cobb Community Foundation, which network with many other organizations and foundations to make rehabilitation a natural philosophy. We will continue to network with several non-profit organizations and foundations contributing to reformational programs for returning citizens.
Because It's Personal, Inc. is excited to work with formerly incarcerated individuals and give them the tools needed to become an integral part of society. We are fully committed to demonstrating the ethical leadership that will impact participants' experiences. Our administration aims to reach them, their families, communities, and beyond.
